(2013) Tape Works 80-82 Vinyl LP

The one and only Symboter LP on Vinyl! Early works of 1981 and 1982.Limited and numbered Edition of 500 units by Vinyl on Demand, sold out. The tapes from 1980-1982 contained songs I had recorded from 1978-1981, many of them live due to lack of multitrack recording equipment or because too complicated, then on 4-track tape devices and finally a few pieces in a 24 track studio, which I did a few nights allowed to use it. The original master tapes have disappeared over time, there are only a few cassettes from that time. The German label “Vinyl on demand” has amazingly...

(2015) New Songs

Since the beginning of the year I have been consistently implementing my musical ideas. Currently, my new studio mainly includes: Hardware: Ableton Push2, Korg Karma, David Smith Prophet 12, Elektron Analog4, Korg Micro, Behringer 2000 Midi Controller, Novation Impulse Midi Controller Software: Ableton Live Studio, Native Instruments Reaktor, Audio Mulch, MAX7 First result is the song EO E and O are my initials (Olaf Erik). I used my new home studio for the first time on this song. I found it difficult to work strongly with the software-based systems (I come from the time of the analog module systems) to which one is forced by...

(2002) The Nocturne Waves

(1990s) Re-Animation

These are a few songs I wrote and performed between 1981 and 2000 and were not released. 1981-2000 Bautz.mp3 The water noise originated from the sample of a coke can that was thrown down the garbage swallower. I hung a microphone about 5 meters into the swallower. Then the sample is edited with a PPG Waveterm2. All played with a PPG Wave2.2/Waveterm and my self-built modular system. "Bautz" was built in the attic room and was inspired by roofing work that was quite annoying. The word "Bautz" is also sampled and played. The name "Bautz" I found much later on an old...

(1985) Japotage (Vinyl LP)

In collaboration with my very committed musician friend Kai Taschner, who at that time mainly played saxophone, the LP project “Japotage” with other musicians and guest musicians was created first in my studio and then in other studios. I supplied a large part of the technique and my share to the group was the Noise Field recordings, tape processing, synthesizers, ambient collages. A beautiful project that mainly bears Kai’s signature. My solo composition is "Electric Teahouse". 2000 LPs. Frog Records ?- FROG 85007 On youtube I found a video where you can listen to the LP: ...
