Film "Turbulence" can now be seen in exhibition in Osnabrück
The exhibition “Turbulence” with works by Wolfgang Petrick was shown in the Kunsthalle Dominikanerkirche Osnabrück from 22.09.2012.
The central, 6 meter high ship object was accompanied by a video installation, directed by Wolfgang Petrick and enginered by Frédérik Krauke. The music for the film came from me and was composed and recorded in August and September 2012.
It uses mainly field recordings and sound samples of deep sea exploration, underwater bubbling, submarine steel noises, enriched with cracking and glass cracking and crushing. In addition to complex overwater and underwater sound collages, there a main central part in the music consisting of a slow and strange rhythm pattern with a minimalist free jazz saxophone.
Another part in the music is my first glitch work, generated from fragments of extremely condensed and destroyed high-sea noise.
The length of the film is 45 minutes.
Instruments used:
Radical Technologies Spectralis II, Korg Karma, Audio mulch software, Propellerhead Reason
